Day 5. Shira Camp One – Shira Camp Two (3900m)
A great day to demonstrate the history of this area and to see how vast Kilimanjaro National Park is. Never be tempted to skip this day and move on to Barafu. 3 – 4 hrs, BLD
Day 8. Karanga – Barafu (4650m)
Another short day but a very important one. The ascend to the Barafu should be taken slowly and when you do arrive, take your time to rest, drink and take an early dinner in preparation for the overnight ascent to the summit. Ensure that all of your kit is ready for the climb; snacks, water, torch, batteries, etc… Check, check and check again. 3 hrs, BLD
Day 9. Barafu – summit (5895m) – Mweka Hut (3100m)
Summit day; this is the day you have been waiting for!
